The membership of the society is restricted to surgeons of high professional standing certified to practice surgery in their respective countries and who devote majority of time in practice and development of breast surgery and pursue research in various aspects of breast diseases.

Membership Requirements

You must be a member of ISS/SIC in order to be considered for membership with BSI. The acceptance of your regular ISS/SIC membership does not grant for membership in the integrated societies. Confirmation of membership in one of the four Integrated Societies will come from the respective office directly.

If you are an existing ISS/SIC member and wish to become a member of BSI also, please write to Secretary BSI (as below) with your CV.

 

If you are NOT a member of ISS/SIC, and wish to be a member of the BSI, please visit membership section of the ISS/SIC website http://iss-sic.com/membership.html and apply for ISS/SIC membership online. Please make sure you check the box BSI for additional membership in our Integrated Specialist Society.

International Society of Surgery / Société Internationale de Chirurgie (ISS/SIC)

Membership of BSI is only open to ISS/SIC members with considerable interest and involvement in Breast Surgery and Oncology.

 

The ISS/SIC, founded in 1902 in Brussels, Belgium, would like to function with two aims in mind:

 

the ISS/SIC wants to function as a very benevolent “umbrella organization” for to keep the “house of surgery” together for all problems of general interest to all surgical specialties;

and

the ISS/SIC has also a vital interest in up keeping general surgery as an important training base.
